Global logistics
Lanes, transit times, incoterms and documentation. Shipping from a free port with one of the densest cargo networks in the world.
Hong Kong is a free port. There is no duty on the goods we handle, customs clearance is quick and predictable, and the airport runs one of the densest cargo networks in the world. For a distributor that combination is the whole argument for being here.
Transit times by lane
These are working transit times from despatch, not from order acceptance, and they exclude customs clearance at destination.
| Lane | Transit | Mode | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mainland China | 1–2 days | Road and air via Shenzhen | Handled by our Shenzhen desk with the broker you nominate. |
| Southeast Asia | 2–4 days | Air freight from HKG | Our largest lane, with a dedicated desk and documented customs formats. |
| South Asia | 3–5 days | Air freight from HKG | Documentation-sensitive. We prepare to your broker's required wording. |
| Japan and Korea | 2–3 days | Air freight from HKG | Short transit, straightforward clearance, frequent departures. |
| Middle East | 4–6 days | Air freight from HKG | Growing steadily on data centre demand. |
| Europe | 4–6 days | Air freight from HKG | Consolidation available for customers taking regular shipments. |
| North America | 5–7 days | Air freight from HKG | Screening applies to every order on this lane without exception. |
| Australia and NZ | 4–6 days | Air freight from HKG | Established accounts, regular scheduled consignments. |
How despatch works
Stocked orders confirmed before 15:00 Hong Kong time, Monday to Friday, leave the same working day. Orders confirmed after that go the next morning. Built-to-order systems take three to eight working days on the bench before they enter this process.
We ship on your freight account where you have one, which most regular customers prefer, or on ours where you would rather have a delivered price. Either way you receive the airway bill number the day the goods leave.
Documents you receive
- Commercial invoice, in USD or HKD as agreed
- Packing list with serial numbers per carton
- Certificate of origin where the destination requires one
- Airway bill or bill of lading
- Test record for tested lines, and photographs on request
Incoterms
We quote EXW Hong Kong, FCA Hong Kong or CPT to a named destination airport as standard. Delivered duty paid is available on lanes we run regularly. We will not quote DDP on a route we do not know well, because an inaccurate landed cost helps nobody.
Packing
Components ship in original anti-static packaging inside export cartons with appropriate void fill. Complete systems ship in the manufacturer's packaging where we have it and on a timber pallet with corner protection where we do not. Pallet consignments are stretch-wrapped and strapped, and we photograph the finished pallet before collection.
What we do not control
Customs clearance at destination, import duties and local delivery are the buyer's responsibility unless specifically agreed otherwise in writing. We will supply any documentation your broker asks for, promptly, but the clearance itself sits with you.
Compliance
We screen orders against applicable export controls and international sanctions lists before shipping, and we will decline an order rather than guess. For certain destinations and commodities we require end-user details in writing. This occasionally delays an order by a day, which is the correct trade-off.
